The Talk with Mrs. Chris Bradshaw

Hello,
Her Story
Mrs. Chris Bradshaw was on a pony trekking trip in Lesotho, when she was informed that there was only one library in the country. When she learned this, she decided to start ALP.
Malawi Lifestyle and culture
In Malawi, almost everything is homegrown and homemade. This is what an average family's house looks like in Malawi.
In Malawi, locals made kilns out of mud bricks to make mud bricks used to make houses, but now locals are asked not to build kilns to stop habitat destruction. There is very little money, and
droughts can cause millions of deaths and are caused because of global warming.
Schools in Malawi
In Malawi, the average class size is one hundred fifty students and the average school has 2,000 students. Only a third of elementary school students make it to high school. Classrooms only have blackboards and nothing else. Teachers might have a book if they are lucky, but most teachers teach from memory. Most children come to school because schools provide what might possibly be their one and only meal of the day: porridge.
About the Libraries
Students sometimes walk distances of six miles to deliver the boxes of books to their new library. Most libraries have Culture corners in with artifacts from their culture. All libraries have HIV sections. The librarians are trained teachers. the most requested books are science books, but teachers like dictionaries, children's encyclopedias, atlases, and black history books. American history books, and religious books aren't accepted.
Way to approach people to ask them for a donation:
Tell the people your problem, what you are doing about it and then, ask for a donation.
And that's a little more about Chris and ALP!
Thanks!
Nikhil
